Dawn Tonneau, MBA, MSW, LMT

Dawn is a graduate of the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in Albany, NY.  She is licensed in New York, as well as nationally.  Prior to Massage Therapy, Dawn enjoyed careers as a Mental Healthcare Administrator, Kindermusik Teacher, Consultant, and Bookkeeper. She holds an MBA from Union College, and an MSW from the SUNY Albany School of Social Welfare. Dawn enrolled in massage therapy school because of her personal experience with how effective therapeutic massage is for chronic issues, her fascination with biology, and a desire to share this art/science with others.

Dawn utilizes a variety of massage techniques, including Myofascial Release (MFR), Cupping, Shiatsu, Neuromuscular Techniques and Swedish (relaxation).  She specializes in the John F. Barnes method of Myofascial Release (MFR), in which she has earned advanced certification.  Dawn enjoys providing this technique because of its gentle, relaxing approach, and it’s effectiveness for a wide variety of soft tissue issues.  In her practice, she enjoys working with people who have sports- and work-related muscle problems, daily living postural problems, neck and rotator-cuff issues, sore and stiff hips, issues related to neuromuscular conditions such as fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, and internal and external scarring from surgery or physical trauma.  Dawn also enjoys out-of-the-office events for athletes, and has provided massage to local races, including the Ironman Triathlon in Lake Placid, the Tour of the Battenkill, and the Cherry Blossom Festival 5K Race for ALS.
